In 1895 Shorewood was not Shorewood - it was East Milwaukee, original home of the Milwaukee Country Club and one of the first 9 hole golf courses in the country... all 44 states! Most of what we now call home was a golf course, from 1895 to 1911 when the MCC move further north.
Through the assistance of modern technology, our hard working staff of Shorewood historians have pinpointed the original location of all nine Tee Boxes and Greens of the original golf course.
Join us on Saturday, July 26, 2025 for a FREE self-guided walking tour through Shorewood's history. Feeling competitive? A $19 mini course will be available on the location of some of the original holes for all who are interested. Period attire is STRONGLY encouraged! All proceeds will benefit our Shorewood Greyhound Golf Team!
Stay tuned for more information and we'll see you on the green!!
