Congratulations to the 2025 Shorewood Chili Cook Off TWO time champion... Draft and Vessel!
The Plunge:
11am:
- The Brat House Bus will be making trips up and down Oakland to Atwater Beach from 11am - 1pm. Driver tips are highly recommended.
- Brave souls can gather at Atwater Park.
- Enjoy a warm and free coffee or hot chocolate from Roast courtesy of The Shorewood Foundation
- The Gentlemen of Shorewood will also be accepting donations to Kinship Community Food Center. Bring a simple cash donation of $5 (or more)! Your donation will earn you a wrist band good for free chili tastings in Shorewood after the plunge... more on that later.
- When you are ready... make your way down to the sand!
- Take the plunge in the beautiful refreshing waters of Lake Michigan. Cleanse your soul and start the new year off right!
- Bring your own towel and dry recovery cloths. Bring your support crew and their cameras as well!
- Be sure to pose for the spontaneous picture with a LIVE POLAR BEAR!

Five local Shorewood establishments will be serving chili throughout the day. Be sure to try all five and decide which one is your favorite. Remember that wrist band you received for the $5 Kinship donation? It has 3 pull tabs on it. That means you get to vote 3 times. The location with the most tabs by 4pm wins!
- Each individual with a wrist band has 3 votes. Drop all three pull tabs in your favorite chili establishment's voting jar... or spread out the love. You're the boss. Each pull tab is worth one point.
- Each of the 5 establishments will provide you with one small sample taste. You can purchase a whole bowl if you wish.
