The Low Down
Think of The Riverwest 24... except it's half the distance and half the fun... and in Shorewood.
OK, now we're on the same page.

- You'll need a team of 4 people. Each person has to complete at LEAST 1 lap. One rider from each team is racing at a time. Each rider can use his/her/their own non-motorized ride. Oh, you have an electric bike... well look who's living in the future now!?!?! Go ahead and sign up anyhow. You're not qualified to win, but you're qualified to have a great time.
- Entry fee is $100 per team and 100% of this money will be split between Pinnacle Bike Service (funds will help put kids on bikes in Shorewood) and the Riverwest Food Pantry (funds will feed people!).
- Kids under 21 years old will not do challenges that involve beer. Entry fees for kids is $12 per kid and can have teams of 4, 5 or 6 riders. All kids entering the race will also be given a free chicken lunch from Nino's Southern Sides in Shorewood! You know how the Gentlemen of Shorwood feel about chicken!
- 1 lap consists of riding your bike through 9 different checkpoints in Shorewood. Checkpoints must be followed in order. Use the rubber stamp provided to your team to check in on the board at each checkpoint.
- There may be a simple challenge of some type at each checkpoint that must be completed in order to check in. Some challenges might even count as Bonus Laps.
- A complete race route with checkpoints and description of some "bonus lap" challenges will be provided to each team on race day.
- On the day of the event, pick up your packet at checkpoint 9 (on Beverly Rd - middle of the block) for your team rubber stamp and a list of additional, surprise "bonus lap" challenges. At high noon... GO!
Rules of the Road
This is clearly an unsanctioned event, however, it is sponsored by the GENTLEMEN of Shorewood. So be cool - ok? Wear your helmet and obey the damn law.
In the end
- At midnight - Most laps by one team wins. Least amount of laps... well, you know.
- To the winner. Accolades and admiration for an entire year. What did you expect? You competed in the Shorewood 12. You're already a winner.
- To the losing team. Throw the winners (that's everyone who beat you) a kegger at next year's race - they earned it. No seriously...
